Key takeaways

What Qiu is

Qiu is an AI assistant that works for you through its app at https://meetqiu.com, Telegram and email: it reads and drafts emails, manages your calendar, documents and tasks, and reminds you of what's pending. It only accesses what you connect, and you can disconnect it at any time.

What data we process

Use of Google data

Qiu's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never used to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised AI/ML models, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.

Help us improve Qiu

Only if you allow it, we see how the app is used: the screens you open, where you tap, how you move around and the errors that appear. We do it with our own tool (OpenReplay) on our server in the European Union, with no third party involved. We do not see your messages or Qiu's replies, nor anything you type in any field, nor passwords, keys, cards, emails or numbers (what is kept is a screen with all the content masked), and the app's requests are kept without their content. It is the same for everyone, in the EU too, and it only starts when you say yes. You can change it at any time in Profile, under Alerts and preferences. What is kept for this is deleted after 30 days.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

On servers in the European Union. The access tokens to your services and the safe are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The assistant does not see the passwords in the safe. Qiu acts on its own on what you ask, without waiting for you to confirm each step, and every action goes into your action log (what it did and how it went, without the content). You can stop it at any time and what can be reversed can be undone from that log. If you ask for just a draft, nothing is sent; if a message carries health data, it shows it to you first; your spending limits apply to payments; and what someone else asks in a group is never done in your name without your OK.

What each permission is for

Qiu only uses a connection when it needs it for something you ask, or for the alerts you have switched on. You can remove any of them whenever you like:

ConnectionWhat Qiu uses it forHow to remove it
Google: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and TasksReading, drafting and sending your emails, managing your calendar and working with your documents and tasks when you ask; alerting you to what matters if your alerts are on.Profile › disconnect Google, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Access stops at once.
NotionReading and writing in the pages and databases you share with Qiu.Profile › disconnect Notion, or in Notion › Settings › Connections.
GitHubViewing and changing the repositories you give it access to, for the coding tasks you hand it.Profile › disconnect GitHub, or in GitHub › Settings › Applications.
Other apps you connect (Slack, Fathom, “Any API”…)Only what that connection allows, for what you ask.Profile › disconnect that app.
SafeKeeping your passwords, cards and details encrypted, to sign in or fill in forms for you when you ask. The assistant does not see the passwords.Delete each item from the safe, or the whole account.
LocationWhatever depends on where you are when you send it (routes, places nearby, alerts when you arrive).Stop sending it or remove the permission on your phone or browser; in Profile you can delete your saved location.
Desktop program (if you install it)Working on your computer on what you ask, for example with your design programs.Profile › Desktop › remove the computer, or uninstall the program.
MicrophoneTurning your voice notes into text to understand them.Remove the microphone permission on your phone or browser.

How long things are kept

Who it is shared with

With the providers needed to run the service: Anthropic (Claude), which processes your messages and the content the assistant fetches from Google when you ask it to, through Qiu's Claude account with model training on user data turned off; Telegram and WhatsApp (Kapso) as messaging channels, and GoHighLevel and Resend for the assistant's email, which only carry the notifications. If you connect your own Claude or ChatGPT account, your messages, including what comes from Google, go to that account under your own terms with that provider; we recommend keeping model training on your data turned off there. Voice-note transcription, search in your documents and the bridge to the Google APIs run on our own server in the European Union, with no third parties. We use no other AI provider. Also, depending on what you use: OpenStreetMap (Nominatim and its routing service) receives the coordinates and addresses you type, to locate them; Stripe processes plan payments; SerpApi receives hotel, flight and map searches; and the services you connect receive only what you ask the assistant to do with them. We don't share it with anyone else.
