Qiu vs Zapier

Rules you map out, or a coworker who delivers

Zapier links apps with rules you map out step by step; Qiu is an AI coworker you hand the outcome to, and it gets it done, even on websites and programs with no API.

Choose Zapier if...

Your process never changes

  • Your process never changes ("when X arrives, create Y") and you want it to run thousands of times at a predictable per-task cost.
  • You need the widest catalog: its directory lists more than 10,000 apps you can connect (its pricing page says 9,000+).
  • Your team already runs on Zaps and wants a free plan (100 tasks/month) to start.
  • You need enterprise controls such as SAML SSO, audit logs or SCIM provisioning.
Qiu Choose Qiu if...

You'd rather delegate than wire it

  • The work changes from case to case and you'd rather explain it in plain words than build a flow for every variation.
  • Part of the job goes through websites or programs with no connector: Qiu drives a real browser (logs in, fills forms, buys) and has a desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux.
  • You want your whole team to use it with no per-seat fee and several agents at once (Business plan, €299/mo).
  • You already pay for Claude or ChatGPT and want to use it: those runs cost nothing extra in Qiu.

Key differences

What changes day to day

A task, not a diagram

In Zapier you define every trigger and action up front, and each action that runs successfully uses a task. In Qiu you give it the goal, the coworker-manager splits the work between coworkers, and for anything sensitive it shows you a "Confirm" card before acting.

It remembers what you already told it

Qiu has a second brain: personal memory across chats, memory per group, and semantic search, so you don't repeat your clients, prices or way of working. Zapier's official Agents page mentions adding "company knowledge" but doesn't describe memory across conversations.

It works while you sleep, and picks up on its own

Qiu runs 24/7 with background goals, routines and watches, and resumes where it was after a restart. When it needs something from you (a captcha, a code, a password or a money decision) it asks and waits. Zapier offers approval pauses through its Human in the Loop app on paid plans; reviewers need a Zapier account.

Your AI, your connections

In Qiu you connect your Claude or ChatGPT subscription and those runs cost nothing extra. For anything without an API, Qiu uses a real browser and, in phase 1, a desktop app that sees the screen and drives mouse and keyboard (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Zapier bills by tasks for Zaps and by activities for Agents, with allowances set by plan.

How to switch

From your Zaps to Qiu in 3 steps

You don't need to switch anything off on day one: both can run side by side.

  1. List your Zaps. Note the ones that break often, have many branches, or depend on a site with no connector: those are the first to move to Qiu.
  2. Explain the process to Qiu. Start the 15-day trial, connect the same accounts (Google, Microsoft 365, Slack, GoHighLevel...) and describe in plain words what each Zap did, including when it should ask you to confirm.
  3. Run side by side, then switch off. Let Qiu do the work alongside the Zap for a week or two, check the results, and turn the Zap off once you're comfortable.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Qiu replace Zapier?

It depends on the work. For fixed, high-volume automations between apps, Zapier is an established choice. Qiu fits better when every case is different, when the work goes through sites or programs with no API, or when you'd rather delegate than build Zaps. Many teams will use both.

Doesn't Zapier already have AI agents?

Yes: Zapier Agents, with 400 activities a month on the free plan and 1,500 on Agents Pro (about $33.33/month billed annually). What Qiu adds is a real browser, memory across conversations, desktop control, and using your own Claude or ChatGPT at no extra cost.

Where is my data stored?

Zapier says it hosts data on AWS servers in the United States and does not offer EU-only storage. Qiu is a managed service in Qiu's cloud, and before any sensitive action it asks for your approval with a "Confirm" card.

What happens if I go over my limit?

In Zapier, once you run out of tasks, runs are held until tasks are available again, unless you turn on pay-per-task billing or upgrade. In Qiu you pay a flat fee per plan, and runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT add no cost in Qiu.

Can Qiu pay or send something without asking me?

No. Before a sensitive action it shows a "Confirm" card, and any money decision needs your approval. If a captcha, code or password is needed, it asks you.

Can I use Qiu on WhatsApp?

Not today. Qiu works on Telegram and on the web.
