Qiu vs Dust

Dust builds assistants on top of your company's knowledge; Qiu is a coworker that opens the apps, does the task and asks your permission before anything sensitive.

Reviewed: November 2026

The short answer

Choose by the work you want to delegate

Choose Qiu if...

  • You need the AI to do the work end to end: open a website, log in, fill in forms, send, publish or buy.
  • You want your whole team to use it with no per-seat fee and several agents at once (Business plan, €299/mo).
  • You already pay for Claude or ChatGPT and don't want to pay twice: those runs cost nothing extra in Qiu.
  • You want it working on its own 24/7 (goals, routines, watches), picking up pending work after a restart and stopping to ask before any money decision.

Choose Dust if...

  • Your main need is asking questions and getting answers across company knowledge (Notion, Drive, Confluence, Slack, GitHub...) from one place.
  • Your team lives in Slack or Microsoft Teams and wants to call agents right there with an @mention.
  • You need enterprise governance: SSO (Okta, Entra ID, Jumpcloud), Spaces with permissions, plus SCIM and audit logs on Enterprise.
  • You want to pick from 20+ models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek) and pay per seat with credits included.

Key differences

Four things that change the day to day

Work that keeps going

Dust agents start from a message, a schedule or a webhook, and each run is saved as a conversation you can review. Qiu pursues goals in the background, with routines and watches that don't depend on you opening a chat. If there's a restart midway, it resumes pending work.

Memory that knows you, not just the agent

In Dust, memory is a tool you switch on per agent: each user gets private memory, kept separate for every agent. Qiu keeps a second brain: personal memory across all your chats, memory for each group, and semantic search over what it has learned.

Your agent's day

Dust can run agents on schedules and webhooks (GitHub, Jira, Linear, Zendesk, Fathom or custom). Qiu plans its day around goals, routines and watches that run 24/7, and uses the browser the way you would. When a captcha, code or password shows up, it asks you; before payments, sends or other sensitive actions it shows a "Confirm" card and waits.

Your own AI and your tools

Dust includes 20+ models and is paid with per-seat credits; its docs don't describe a way to bring your own subscription. Qiu runs on your Claude or ChatGPT: those runs cost nothing extra in Qiu. And where there's no connector, the real browser fills the gap.

How to switch

Switch in 3 steps

  1. Inventory your Dust agents. Copy the instructions of the ones you use most and note their connections and schedules.
  2. Create your coworkers in Qiu. Start the 15-day trial (no card), connect your Claude or ChatGPT and the apps you used (Google, Microsoft 365, Slack...), and paste those instructions into one coworker per area.
  3. Turn schedules into routines. Recreate each Dust schedule as a Qiu routine or watch, and run both side by side for a week before switching the old one off.
FAQ

Frequently asked

Does Qiu replace Dust?

It depends on the job. If you want answers across company documents from Slack or Teams, Dust is built for that. If you want someone to carry out tasks in websites and apps end to end, with your approval on anything sensitive, that's Qiu's ground. You can also use both.

Can Dust agents use a browser like Qiu?

According to its docs, the "Web Search & Browse" tool searches Google and reads pages (text, HTML or screenshots). It doesn't document logging in, clicking or filling in forms. Qiu drives a real browser: it signs in with your account, fills in forms and completes purchases with your approval.

Where is my data stored?

Dust offers US or EU data residency, and single-tenant deployment on Enterprise. Qiu is a managed cloud service, not self-hostable; before payments, sends or other sensitive actions it asks for your approval with a "Confirm" card.

Can I use my Claude or ChatGPT subscription?

In Qiu, yes, and those runs cost nothing extra. In Dust, models are included and consumed through per-seat credits; we couldn't find an option in its docs to bring your own subscription.

What happens if the agent needs to pay for or send something?

Qiu stops and shows you a "Confirm" card; money decisions always need your approval. Dust can also ask for approval: admins mark each MCP tool as high stake (always asks), low stake or never ask.

What does each cost for a team of 5?

On Dust, 5 Pro seats are €150/mo monthly or €120/mo yearly, excl. VAT. Qiu has three plans: Personal €29/mo, Pro €99/mo and Business €299/mo, with a 15-day trial and no card. Business is for the whole team: everyone uses it with no per-seat fee and several agents at once, with your own Claude or ChatGPT.
